Postmark Philly: Mighty Wilt
Lots of people, many right here in the Dip’s hometown, want to see Wilt Chamberlain’s face on a postage stamp. Count us among them.
The stamp advisory committee that decides such things says a Chamberlain stamp is “under consideration,” reports columnist Annette John-Hall in today’s Inquirer. Most stamp candidates never even make it that far.
This Saturday, which would have been Wilt’s 74th birthday, the lighted scroll atop the PECO building in Center City will blaze the with the words: “Help NBA Legend Get a Stamp.”
Sounds Mighty to us.
