Teen Scholars

Our Mighty Teen Scholars program, for Philly students in grades 9-12, meets at Mighty Writers from 6 to 8pm every Wednesday.
The Teen Scholars writing program is built on critical thinking and dynamic discussions. During the 2012-13 school year, we’ll be reading and responding to two books in particular: “Decoded,” by Jay-Z, and “Lies My Teacher Told Me,” by James W. Loewen.
Students are expected to attend the program every week.
In addition to weekly meetings, the Teen Scholars will visit several colleges. If you have a question about our weekly schedule or an upcoming college visit, please see our calendar on the home page.
New Teen Scholars program applications are accepted quarterly. The next deadline is Nov. 28, 2012. Download a Mighty Writers Teen Scholars Application.
