Slam Poetry for Beginners
For Philadelphia students ages 7 to 10
Tuesdays, 6:00-7:30pm
April 4, 18, 25 (three sessions)
This workshop will take place at 2123 N. Gratz Street

Mini Play Madness
For Philadelphia students ages 7 to 9

This workshop will take place at 2123 N. Gratz Street

How fast can you write a play? How about a minute? In this workshop, we will be shown what it takes to write a one-minute play (a setting, characters, and a scenario), and then there will be a competition to see who can write the most plays in 30 minutes! Afterward, you can choose your favorite one to present to the group for a reading. Instructor: Carlos Roa

Make Your Own Ending!
For Philadelphia students ages 7 to 11

Have you ever wondered what your favorite story would be like if it had a different ending? Have you ever wanted to write one? Wonder and want no more! Pick your most (or even least) favorite story ending and re-write it the way you think it should have happened. Instructors: Collin Bradley and Shamira O'Neal

Comic Book Club
For Philadelphia students ages 9 to 13
Fridays, 3:30-5:00pm

This workshop will take place at 2123 N. Gratz Street

What makes a "comic" a "comic?" In this workshop we learn all things comic book related. We start with the basics, learning about panels and word balloons and move into basic drawing techniques and story layouts. Join comic book extraordinaires Terry Leban and Phil Kahn in the studio every Friday!

Urban Fantasy
For Philadelphia students ages 11 to 15
Thursday, 6:00-7:30pm
April 3, 17, 24 (three sessions)
This workshop will take place at 2123 N. Gratz Street

Battling ferocious dragons in spooky caves? Epic journeys to destroy an evil ring? Learning magic from one of the greatest wizards in all the land? Fantasy can take you to any place you can come up with. But what about right here and now? What if the guy who runs the corner store is actually a goblin in disguise, or the principal of your school is from another dimension? Join us to find the magic hiding in plain sight!
