Mighty Toddlers - Tuesdays
For Philadelphia students ages 2 to 5
Tuesday, 10am-11am
Feb. 7-28 (four sessions)
This workshop will take place at 1501 Christian Street

Come and spend a few hours in educational fun with your toddlers. Taught by Kimberly Garrison, Philadelphia actress, mother and entrepreneur, this weekly play session is family fun. Once Upon a Time...
For Philadelphia students ages 7 to 9
Sundays, 12:30-2:00pm
Mar. 19, 26; Apr. 2, 9, 23 (five sessions)
This workshop will take place at 1501 Christian Street

Do you have a favorite fairy tale? Do you like movies such as Brave or Tangled? This is perfect for you! During this workshop, we will look at the classic fairy tales we know and love, and how changing the ending or making the villain the hero can transform these fairy tales into something new. Then, we will write our own! On the last day of the workshop, we welcome parents to come and listen to us share our fairy tales. Instructor: Christina Rosso

Who Stole the Cookie?
For Philadelphia students ages 7 to 9
Sunday, 2:00-3:30pm
Feb. 19 (one session only)
This workshop will take place at 1501 Christian Street

Inspired by this year’s One Book, One Philadelphia, we will follow the steps of 15-year-old Christopher to create and solve a mystery! We will create clues that will lead to other clues and hunt around Mighty Writers to find out who stole the cookie from the cookie jar. The first six people to sign up will get a copy of “Temple Grandin” a girl with autism who different outlook helps her to do great things!

Comic Book Characters
For Philadelphia students ages 8 to 10
Sunday, 1:00-3:00pm

This workshop will take place at 1501 Christian Street

Join us and create the fiercest, coolest and craziest comic book character you can. An expert comic writer will help us create or own characters, illustrate them from a variety of perspectives, and write a short comic about them. Join the ranks of the Mighty Comic Artists. How to Build a Kite!
For Philadelphia students ages 8 to 10

March 5, 12, 19, 26 (four sessions)
This workshop will take place at 1501 Christian Street

Learn how to blog fun and interesting pieces for our own Mighty South Blog. In this workshop, we will learn how to build our own kites from scratch and each one of us will write a "how to" article for our readers. After we have built our amazing new toys, (weather permitting) we will go to Marian Anderson Park to fly them. Parents are welcome to join the fun! Instructor: Tanesha Ford

Arts Tuesdays - Teen Playwrights
For Philadelphia students ages 12 to 17
Tuesdays, 6:00-8:00pm
Feb. 7, 14, 21, 28 (four sessions)
This workshop will take place at 1501 Christian Street

Writing a play can be fun! In this workshop, we will create real characters that make your play or story POP! Using improvisation techniques to figure out who your character is, we will develop the foundation for an outstanding play that will move audiences. There will be pizza. Girl Power Sundays - Celebrate Girls!
For Philadelphia students ages 11 to 13

This workshop will take place at 1501 Christian Street

Here we will confront the limitations placed upon girls from society and within. While breaking down stereotypes and challenges, we will be taking steps to empowering ourselves and others. We are FABULOUS and We are CLAIMING IT!! We are the embodiment of great women of the past and we will continue to use their strength to build up the girl communities of the future! Building Brotherhood Sundays - He Got Game
For Philadelphia students ages 12 to 17
Sundays, 3:30-5:00pm
Jan. 8 to June 4, 2017 (ongoing)
This workshop will take place at 1501 Christian Street

Find your “writer’s voice” through sports and music. We will focus on these industries and learn how to recap games and develop reviews on songs of the day. Together we will explore the symbiotic relationship between Hip Hop and sports through history and today. Taught by Mr. James, a recording artist, sports aficionado and a five-year member of the Mighty Writer Staff family. Instructor: James Owk
