Coming soon: “Sound and Fury,”
MW’s history of black radio project.

The members of MW’s Teen Lounge, which meets Wednesdays, held their weekly meeting at Buca di Beppo last night. Over a feast that no one will soon forget, the history and evolution of rap and hip hop was discussed and debated.

What do you do at Mighty Writers?
At MW on Sundays, I work with students on their monthly writing projects and homework.
What did you like to write as a kid?
I enjoyed writing poems about people and things that I liked.
What is your favorite thing to write now?
I’m not sure that I currently have a favorite thing to write. I do enjoy writing “just because” emails to friends and family. I do quite a bit of writing for work, which can be fun.
In your opinion, what makes someone a Mighty Writer?
A Mighty Writer is someone who gets excited when they finally think of the perfect word to use!
What keeps you coming back to Mighty Writers?
I always leave MW feeling better than when I entered! It’s like a deep breath of fresh air.
Every month, we feature a Mighty volunteer on the MW website. Our volunteers (more than 300 each year) make us who we are, and they help keep our writing programs free for kids. Interested in volunteering? Sign up today!
